NEAR MISS IN WASHINGTON!
While we were away......... we had four days without email while moving from the kids' into their house in town. Imagine our surprise when we opened out email to discover that the marina had suffered a disastrous fire on the 7th of January. Of the three docks, we are located on the rivermost, but the fire occurred on the middle dock in the covered area - a faulty electrical inlet on one of the boats was the culprit, and 30 boats were lost - some of them people's homes, most of them uninsured, and several were historic restorations that will never be seen again.
Our neighbors were safe, although some have lost everything. We are so fortunate to still have our floating home intact!
Cannot wait to get back aboard and start back south.
